One designer,direct line,no account team.

Ace Studios is a one-person graphic design practice in New York. I draw logos, design clothing graphics and ads, build sites and set type - and I stay on a project from the first sketch to the press check.

How I work

Fewer projects, further in.

I take on a deliberately small number of projects at a time. That limit is the point - it is the most I can run without handing work to someone who was not there when the idea was argued for.

Every project starts with reading - the category, the archive, the competition, the constraints nobody mentioned in the brief. Design starts after that, and it starts on paper.

I deliver systems, not decks. Files are organised, named and handed over with the fonts licensed and the templates working - and for clothing, with the separations and placements print-ready. Six months later you should not need me to make a poster.

Process

  • ReadTime in the archive and the category before a single mark is made.01
  • DrawGenuinely different directions - no filler routes drawn to make a third option.02
  • BuildThe chosen route extended across every surface it will actually live on - garment, feed, shelf, screen.03
  • Hand overGuidelines, working files, licensed fonts and print-ready artwork, handed over so you can use them without me.04

Who you work with

Ace Studios is one designer, working out of New York. Every project is drawn, built and delivered by the same person you brief.

For work that needs more than one pair of hands - photography, illustration, development, specialist printing - I bring in collaborators I have worked with before, direct them myself, and remain the person accountable for what ships.
